London Eye

Last weekend we bought a travel card each and made our way into London. The first port of call was Covent Garden and Navajo Joe, a funky Mexican restaurant we have been to before. They serve excellent food and even better cocktails, the mojitos went down exceptionally well! Quite a few drinks later we travelled to Waterloo and collected our tickets for the London Eye. Below are some of my favourite photos I took on the day.

We went on at half seven when the sun was beginning to set and as a result saw some spectacular views. You get an awesome 360 degree panoramic view of the entire capital and can see many of Londons famous landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, BT Tower and the Gherkin.

Lucky number 8!

Having planned to go out at seven last night I was running a little late and didn’t meet everyone at the pub until just after 8. A fun filled night ensued and a trip into town was inevitable. We hit ‘Reflex for some cheesy 80′s music and saw the night through until it closed. As we were leaving we decided to continue the night and made our way to the casino.

Viva Las Vegas!

Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world, has been a destination I’ve yearned to see for many years.  I can tell you now that it really is unlike any other place in the world and one that you must experience to truly appreciate the enormity of its dominating structures, super casinos, vast shopping malls and the nocturnal way of life for many of its population.

I stayed at the Mandalay Bay adjacent to Las Vegas airport at the end of the ‘strip’. As with everything in Vegas the hotel was huge. It took ten minutes to walk from the hotel suite through the casino, past numerous restaurants, through a shopping mall to the conference centre without stopping to get the ID badge I needed for the consumer electronics show, the primary reason for my trip.

Legoland Windsor

Some months ago I got a voucher at my local Sainsbury’s for various attractions in and around the UK. One of them was for a free adult ticket to Legoland Windsor when you buy one full price ticket at the gate. For some reason I have always had the urge to go there so we took to the road on day two and made our way to Legoland!

Cotswold Wildlife Park

I decided to have a few days off work and take a short break with Gemma this week. We stayed in an excellent hotel on the outskirts of Oxford and couldn’t resist the urge to upgrade to an Executive Suite. Our first port of call was the Cotswold Wildlife Park which wasn’t too far from where we were staying.
